Why Should My Mouse Call Me ?

Handbook of Behavioral Neuroscience Volume 25, 1st Edition, 2018. Pages 423-431. doi: 10.1016/B978-0-12-809600-0.00040-8

Acoustic Communication in Mouse Models of Social Disorders : Ultrasonic Vocalizations as an Index of Emotional and Motivational States. Mice emit ultrasonic vocalizations (USVs) in various interaction contexts in adulthood and infancy. One of the essential current questions about mouse USVs is to understand their precise biological significance and roles during social behaviors. Multiple data demonstrate that mouse USVs might be emitted during positive or negative animal states with specific acoustic features, suggesting a role as biomarkers of the animal emotional state. Ultrasonic vocalization in other vertebrate taxa, chapter 40 of Handbook of Ultrasonic Vocalization, Volume 25. A Window into the Emotional Brain. Editors : Stefan Brudzynski ; eBook ISBN: 9780128097731 ; Hardcover ISBN: 9780128096000 - Academic Press, Published Date: 1st May 2018.

The Smoothened Receptor in Cancer and Regenerative Medicine

Medicinal chemistry is both science and art. The science of medicinal chemistry offers mankind one of its best hopes for improving the quality of life. The art of medicinal chemistry continues to challenge its practitioners with the need for both intuition and experience to discover new drugs. Hence sharing the experience of drug research is uniquely beneficial to the field of medicinal chemistry. Drug research requires interdisciplinary team-work at the interface between chemistry, biology and medicine. Therefore, the topic-related series Topics in Medicinal Chemistry covers all relevant aspects of drug research, e.g. pathobiochemistry of diseases, identification and validation of (emerging) drug targets, structural biology, drugability of targets, drug design approaches, chemogenomics, synthetic chemistry including combinatorial methods, bioorganic chemistry, natural compounds, high-throughput screening, pharmacological in vitro and in vivo investigations, drug-receptor interactions on the molecular level, structure-activity relationships, drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination, toxicology and pharmacogenomics. In general, special volumes are edited by well known guest editors.
