A 2-year post-doctoral position is available starting February 2020, to study retina regeneration in the mouse, at the newly founded Neuroscience Paris-Saclay Institute in Saclay (20 km south of Paris) dedicated to fundamental research in Neuroscience.

Upon injury, Müller glia cells can reprogram and acquire retinal stem cell characteristics. If such a process sustains powerful regeneration in fish or amphibian, it is however largely inefficient in mammals. The ambition of our lab is to uncover molecular mechanisms that would allow revitalizing their regenerative potential. The project addresses the original question of the interplay between inflammation and Müller cell reactivation. Although a subject of growing interest in the regenerative biology community, most remains to be discovered in this field.
We are looking for highly motivated candidates with experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques and preferably a solid background in neuroscience and/or stem cell biology. Knowledge in immunology will also be of high value. Skills in mouse in vivo experimentation is strongly recommended.
