Context-dependent control of terrestrial locomotion in soft-bodied animals

Moving over terrain presents a unique set of challenges for small terrestrial animals with small nervous systems. I will describe recent work at the University of St Andrews aimed at understanding how small terrestrial invertebrates solve neuro-biomechanical problems associated with moving over and through challenging environments.
