The Paris-Saclay Institute of Neuroscience NeuroPSI is a joint Research Unit of the Paris-Saclay University and CNRS with a staff of about 250 people. NeuroPSI is dedicated to basic Neuroscience, at all scales of analysis, from molecule to cognition and from embryo to adult. The research groups of NeuroPSI are organized into three scientific departments to study neural circuits from emergence to behavioral outputs, with different scales and different approaches.
The NeuroPSI institute is made up of 22 research teams grouped within the three scientific departments.
The institute also hosts technical platforms, platforms or services dedicated to research activities.
The main scientific goal at NeuroPSI is to understand the nature and logic of the neural circuits that govern the behavior of animals as they interact with their environment. We use various animal models and combine experimental and theoretical approaches to understand how different types of neural architectures can perform brain tasks. Our projects aim to determine how cellular interactions lead to neuronal populations, how these populations assemble into functional circuits, and how these circuits operate to integrate different sensory modalities, generate behaviors and control cognitive functions. We also investigate, through comparative and genetic approaches, how evolutionary forces shape the brain and create individual brain diversity in natural populations.

And two international antennae :
● The European Institute of Theoretical Neurosciences (EITN, dir. Alain Destexhe)
● The French Node of the Internationational Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF, dir. Andrew Davison and Jean-Baptiste Poline, Neurospin-I2BM-CEA).
These two international antennae are attached to and administered by ICN.
The Management Board is the unit's strategic steering body.
It is composed of the Director of the Unit, the Vice-Directors as well as the heads of departments and the General Secretary.
