CNN Department

The department « Cognitive and Network Neuroscience » (CNN) seeks to decipher neural bases of behavior and cognition, as well as their alterations in neuropathologies. CNN gathers research teams that use different animal models, in the field or in the lab, to study fundamental behaviors and cognitive functions, such as communication, decision-making, learning and memory, as well as their underlying mechanisms at the cellular and network levels.

DECS Department

Our Department « Development, Evolution, and Cell Signaling » (DECS) studies cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the formation, maintenance, regeneration and function of the nervous system, and how they are shaped by evolution.

ICN Department

The department « Integrative & Computational Neuroscience » (ICN) is engaged in an interdisciplinary and multi-scale study of the brain to identify computational principles and neurophysiological mechanisms in thalamo-cortical networks, governing the emergence of high-level brain functions, like perception and learning. ICN is composed of six research teams collectively studying the synaptic and neuronal mechanisms of cortical and subcortical sensory processing and perception, sensori-motor integration and dynamics of internally-generated brain states (e.g. wakefulness, sleep).
