In brief
The Institute’s Zootechnology Service is committed to providing research teams with low-cost, high-quality animal resources for research.


It is committed to advancing excellence in the science of laboratory animal care and welfare. Consequently, its activities are dedicated to:
- assisting investigators in conducting high quality research using laboratory animals.
- acting as a resource centre for the institute community on all matters related to laboratory animals.
- assisting research teams in ethical treatment of laboratory animals and strict compliance with regulations.
- providing veterinary and personnel training and expertise in laboratory animal technology.

NeuroPSI’s aquatic animal facility (fishes and Xenopus) is managed by the Zootechnology Service (TPS-AQUA) of the TEFOR Paris‑Saclay UNIT (TPS).
The platform offers protocol development and validation services (primer design, experimental strategy improvement).

Equipment:
The platform has 2 MJ Research Tetrad (4 x 96 wells) and Applied Biosystem GenAmp (1 x 96 wells) thermos-cyclers, 3 electrophoresis systems and a UVIDOC HD6 gel imager.
Access is limited to authorized users with GMO and ethics certification and an up to date A2 laboratory training. It is validated in conjunction with the zootechnical team, the SBEA and the veterinarian.
