Doctoral Schools

The doctoral schools put together several research teams which take care of the training to research for the PhD students. They offer to the future doctor a high-level scientific frame as well as a preparation for the professional integration.

The doctoral schools are accredited by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, after evaluation. The accreditation of every doctoral school specifies its fields of scientific skill. The scientific quality of laboratories associated to each of the doctoral schools, the procedure of recruitment of the PhD students, the financing strategy of the thesis, the potential of the frame and the training policy, the partnerships with the socioeconomic world and the incentive to the mobility and to european and international opening are so many determining criteria for the accreditation of the doctoral schools.

The current doctoral area in association with the Paris-Saclay Institute of Neuroscience, involves these following Écoles Doctorales specialized in Biology and Cognitive Sciences :

Signaling and Integrative Networks in Biology BioSigne brings together research teams studying signaling and communication mechanisms in biology, and in particular in the fields of Neuroscience, Endocrinology, Neuroendocrinology, Reproduction and Immunology. Research work of the teams covers all aspects of the living, from the molecule to behavior.

Structure and Dynamics of Living Systems (SDSV). This ED of the Paris-Saclay University is attached to three university establishments : Paris-Saclay University, Evry-Val-d'Essonne University, and Versailles Saint-Quentin University. The Paris Sciences & Lettres University is co-accredited.
SDSV is a doctoral school of biology approaching the research on its fundamental and applied aspects at the same time. It develops an integrative vision of the fundamental questions in biology such as the relation genotype-phenotype or the integration of the épigenetic phenomena in the dynamics of living organisms, at the cellular scale, or at the developmental or the evolutionary scale.
